Littlest Angels: Walk For Trisomy 18 is a 5K Walk to benefit the families affected by the difficult diagnosis of Trisomy 18. The Walk is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Watkins Regional Park, 301 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K Walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. Proceeds from the Walk will benefit the Trisomy 18 Foundation.
We are excited to announce the 5th Annual Littlest Angels: Walk for Trisomy 18. This walk was created to honor the families and loved ones of those affected by this terminal diagnosis. Please join us as we seek to raise awareness and support the efforts of the Trisomy 18 Foundation.
Trisomy 18, also known as Edwards syndrome, is a life-threatening condition which results in an extra chromosome #18. This occurs in 1 in every 6,000 newborns, and of those who survive birth only 5-10% live to celebrate their first birthday.
Littlest Angels: Walk for Trisomy 18 is the vision of one family to honor the life of their beautiful angel MaCari Marie Kinney who was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 shortly after her birth in 2008. Although she was given only 1 year to live MaCari thrived for 7 wonderful years. While MaCari's battle ended peacefully in April of 2015, our family feels privileged to support and encourage other families who are in the midst of this battle.
